Text Box:  Also known as the Fat Tailed Gerbil, the duprasi is a gentle  small mammal that is a great beginner pet. They are a low-maintenance pet and the soft docile creatures do not try to bite even when being held. These cousins to the gerbil family love to sit in your hand and be petted. Children especially like duprasis  because they are not speedy and can be easily handled.   Duprasis are very comical and often sleep on their backs with their feet in the air.

Average Lifespan: 2– 5 Years

Diet: We feed our duprasi a quality vitamin fortified finch diet with some fruit and leafy greens. We also provide Timothy hay for them to eat and make nest. Duprasi also love crickets and mealworms as a snack. We also supplement their diet with 10% kitten food, once a week.

Size at Adulthood: Body 3-4 inches and the tail is 2inches.

Minimum Cage size: 24"wide x 12"deep x 12"high. A ten-gallon aquarium is a good choice.

Cleaning: Duprasis are naturally a clean animal however they do enjoy the occasional dust bath.
